About Us – Founder’s Story
I’m a California girl, born in the Bay Area and now happily rooted in Southern California. As a child of the ’70s, I lived through disco, punk, bellbottoms, Farrah Fawcett wings, and later the big-shouldered style and even bigger hair of the ’80s. Ours was the first generation of women to juggle full-time careers while caring for family. No internet, no cell phones (until much later), and no Google. We are resourceful, have lived boldly, thrived, experienced joy, suffered loss, and learned the power of resilience.
A key inspiration for Luxury Beautiful was shaped in part by my experience as an Image Consultant. Styling both women and men deepened my love for fashion, beauty, style and vitality — a passion I still have. The transformative power that truly effective skincare, makeup and self care can bring still inspires me today.
Why I Created Luxury Beautiful
Luxury Beautiful has an unusual story — it’s a venture I grew into rather than the one I initially planned. It began while I was working full-time as a commercial interior designer, traveling three weeks a month. Originally, it was meant to be a side business I could grow into. But when the company I worked for unexpectedly closed its doors, the playing field quickly changed.
Initially, I tried drop shipping, but extended delivery times and inconsistent products didn’t meet my standards. A closer look at the website and marketing confirmed it wasn’t the brand I envisioned. That’s when the real work began. After research, testing, and comparison, I created our private-label line: products worthy of the Luxury Beautiful name.

Luxury Beautiful isn’t just about my vision — it’s about you, too. I’ve selected quality, tested products that I know are effective, but I also believe in a kind of cosmetic democracy. Your voice matters.
Maybe you’d like to see a formula tweaked? Maybe you have an idea for something that doesn’t exist yet? An additional lipstick color? Working hand-in-hand with labs allows me to design products exclusively for women and men 50+, focusing on the replenishment, hydration, and balance. If enough requests come in for a specific product (or idea), I’ll do my best to bring them to life.
You’ll also see my honest reviews throughout the site. Some products worked wonderfully for me, while others – not so much — and that’s perfectly normal. Not everything works for everybody. And sometimes formulations don’t work the first time out and need adjustment. It also could be the product works for you, but not for me. That’s where you come in with feedback. If the product is consistently receiving 4 and 5 star reviews, then it will remain in the line. If not, it’s refined or removed. That’s how each item earns its place here.

The majority of Luxury Beautiful’s products are vegan, with the exception of some products which require certain ingredients (i.e beeswax). While not officially certified as vegan, Luxury Beautiful ensures ingredient transparency so you can verify products against your personal standards. All product ingredients are listed in the “ingredients” on the product details page.

All of Luxury Beautiful’s products meet FDA approvals. Luxury Beautiful collaborates with a network of trusted manufacturers to ensure regulatory compliance.
Our lab partners with a wide network of manufacturers across Canada and the United States, all of whom are required to follow FDA compliance. Because of this broad network, we don’t have a single certification to provide, but we can confirm that every partner we work with meets FDA standards.
